 ROBOTICS;NOTES DaSH Introduction:

Robotics;Notes DaSH, often abbreviated as Daru the Super Hacker, is a visual novel video game developed by Mages as part of the Science Adventure series. Serving as a sequel to the 2012 title Robotics;Notes, it initially launched in Japan in 2019 for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. An English version became available in 2020 for the same platforms as well as Windows, courtesy of Spike Chunsoft. The game was crafted by Toru Yasumoto and Chiyomaru Shikura, produced by Tatsuya Matsubara, and boasts character designs by Tomonori Fukuda, mechanical designs by Makoto Ishiwata and Yukihiro Matsuo, and music composed by Takeshi Abo.

Set approximately six months following the events of Robotics;Notes, the story revolves around the former members of the robotics club. It incorporates elements from other titles in the Science Adventure series and notably features Itaru "Daru" Hashida from Steins;Gate. The narrative's direction hinges on the player's choices within the in-game mobile app Deluoode Map.

Gameplay:

Reviewers praised the game for its compelling writing, captivating visuals, and its portrayal of Tanegashiman culture. It particularly resonated with fans of Steins;Gate and the broader Science Adventure series due to Daru's integral role in the storyline.

Robotics;Notes DaSH, classified as a visual novel, continues the saga of Robotics;Notes, centering on the post-high school graduation journeys of characters like Kaito Yashio and Akiho Senomiya. The game incorporates characters from other Science Adventure titles, most notably Itaru "Daru" Hashida and Nae Tennouji from Steins;Gate. The action unfolds on Tanegashima Island in 2020, half a year after the events of Robotics;Notes and approximately a decade after Steins;Gate's storyline.

In the game, players assume the role of Kaito and make decisions within the Deluoode Map app on their in-game personal digital assistant PokeCom, thus steering the narrative in various directions. Besides Kaito, the game occasionally provides perspectives from other characters.

During the summer of 2020, half a year after the Tanegashima Robotics Club thwarted Kō Kimijima's Project Atum, Itaru "Daru" Hashida arrives on Tanegashima for undisclosed reasons, coinciding with Kaito's break from astronaut studies. Nae introduces Daru to Kaito and the rest of the Robotics Club, which is actively involved in organizing the Tanegashima Gun Festival. While the festival gets underway, Kimijima reemerges using artificial delusion technology, challenging the Robotics Club to locate scattered Geotags across the island before executing his plan to dominate the world. With the rest of the club occupied by festival management, Kaito and Daru are recruited to foil Kimijima's scheme.

Final Words:

However, the Robotics Club soon realizes that this version of Kimijima appears less malevolent than their previous encounter, mainly using his delusions for harmless pranks that actually enhance the festival's popularity. By the midpoint of the festival, Daru discerns that Kimijima's actions are inadvertently influenced by his own delusions. Kimijima eventually turns hostile and tries to disrupt the festival, but Daru uses his potent delusions to "hack" Kimijima's artificial delusion technology, allowing the Robotics Club to disable the equipment and seemingly eliminate Kimijima for good.
